Room Status Not Updating After Housekeeping
Problem: Housekeeping marked a room as clean/ready, but the front desk still shows it as dirty or occupied.
Possible Causes
Housekeeping staff updated the status from a device that lost connection before syncing.
Room status was updated by a different staff member after the one you’re asking.
The change requires supervisor approval depending on your housekeeping workflow settings.
Front desk screen is showing cached data.
Solution
Ask the housekeeping staff member to confirm the update went through on their device (check for a sync icon/error).
Check Housekeeping → Activity Log to see the most recent status change and who made it.
If your property requires approval, check Housekeeping → Pending Approvals.
Refresh the front-desk screen.
Error Message | Resolution |
|---|---|
Status stuck on "Dirty" after cleaning | Check Housekeeping → Activity Log for the actual last update and who made it. |
Room shows "Occupied" after checkout | Confirm checkout was completed in Front Desk, not just the guest leaving — checkout is a separate step. |
Tip: Enable push notifications for housekeeping staff so status syncs immediately instead of on their next app open.
