Projects & Tasks
Project Task Not Saving
Problem: Editing a task (status, assignee, or due date) doesn’t persist after saving.
Possible Causes
The project or sprint is marked "Closed" and locked for edits.
You don’t have edit permission for tasks in that project.
Two people edited the same task at the same time, and only one change was kept.
Required field (e.g., assignee) was left empty.
Solution
Check the project/sprint status — reopen it if it was closed prematurely.
Verify your role has task-edit permission for that project under Settings → Roles.
Refresh and reapply your change if it was overwritten by a simultaneous edit.
Fill in all required fields before saving.
Error Message | Resolution |
|---|---|
"Project closed" error on edit | Ask a project admin to reopen it from Projects → Settings → Status. |
Change reverts after saving | Check for a simultaneous edit by another team member on the same task. |
Tip: Close a sprint only after confirming all tasks are in their final state — reopening should be the exception, not routine.
