Restaurant Order Not Reaching Kitchen (KOT)
Problem: An order was taken at the table but the Kitchen Order Ticket (KOT) never printed or appeared on the kitchen display.
Possible Causes
Order was saved as a draft instead of being "sent" to the kitchen.
Kitchen printer/station assignment is misconfigured for that item category.
Kitchen printer is offline or out of paper.
Item was added after the initial KOT was already sent, and a "send" wasn’t triggered for the addition.
Solution
Reopen the order and confirm you clicked "Send to Kitchen", not just "Save".
Check Restaurant → Settings → Kitchen Stations that the item’s category maps to an active station.
Check the physical printer’s connection and paper.
For added items, use "Send New Items" rather than resaving the whole order.
Error Message | Resolution |
|---|---|
KOT prints twice | Check if two staff members both hit "Send" — coordinate who sends before re-sending. |
Item missing from KOT | Check that item’s kitchen station mapping in Restaurant Settings. |
Tip: Train staff to always use "Send to Kitchen" and never rely on auto-save for time-sensitive orders.
